January 2009 - Happy New Year! January has started to be an exciting month for Hesler AG. Our
annual Prayer Conference was phenomenal. Our 4 day prayer service encouraged the church with a
variety of speakers encouraging us to move closer to God in our prayer life.
Also Anson and Brenda Steward and their family has accepted the Worship Leader position. Their
plans are to be here by the end of February. The Steward family are God sent to Hesler AG. They are
originally from Kentucky. During the last 5 years they have been in Fort Smith, Arkansas as Worship
Pastors for Butterfield Assembly of God. They previously have led worship in Louisville and Lexington.
February 2009 - Fireproof Movie shown with over 110 in attendance. The Love Dare book was given
to every couple and challenged.
March 2009 - Pastor Anson Steward and his family begins their new ministry at Hesler AG.
Anticipating great blessings from God.
April 2009 - It was an exciting time for the church as Pastor Joel became ordained at District Council.
April - May 2009 - God has been moving in a special way: 7 Salvations, 4 Healings, and Rededications
In May the church was able to purchase an additional 4 acres for our future site.
June 2009 - 33 attended our church trip to Six Flags in Louisville.
August 2009 - Mission Emphasis "Reaching Our Jerusalem" was a great success. Missionaries Todd
& Shonda Yates (Chi Alpha), Robby & Betty Jernigan (Emergency Services Chaplains) and Rodney
Goodlett (Youth Alive) all did a great job sharing the urgency in reaching those who are in our
immediate circle of influence.
September 2009 - 85th Homecoming Celebration Service- Hesler A/G celebrated 85 years in the
Assemblies of God. With a packed out sanctuary there was an excitement in the air. Rev. Joe Girdler,
Kentucky Dist. Supt., brought an encouraging message to the congregation. Various greeting from
former pastors of Hesler AG. A church dinner was held afterwards.
October 2009 - The God Gives Hope Outreach was a great success. Able to minister to over 100
people by giving groceries, a variety of resources, and most importantly the gospel message by
Jennifer Smith. Check out the newspaper link at
- Mobile Pantry at the Fairgrounds - Over 270 people were blessed to receive free
groceries. Over 5000 lbs. of food was given away to needy families.
-Trunk n Treat Outreach - Adults as well as the children enjoy an evening of candy, hot dog
and chilli.
November 2009 - North Central Section Men's Rally & Shoot - Men from the section came out for a
time of fellowship, Clay Pigeon Shoot, and a Steak Dinner. Pastor Joel brought an encouraging word.
-Annual Thanksgiving Community Service was held again at Hesler AG. Five churches
came together to worship one Savior.
December 2009 - Our Board / Trustees / Staff had an awesome time at Pastor Joel for their annual
Christmas Party.
- Church Christmas Program - Our Lost n Found Youth Ministry put a Christmas drama
entitle, "The Manger".
